After a long and intense primary election season, the two main contenders for the Presidency of the United States have emerged: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and businessman Donald Trump. After noisy political conventions in both parties, the campaign is now in full swing. Will Trump “make America great again,” or will Clinton ensure that “love trumps hate?” Either way the United States is preparing for another high tension and historic election. The outcome will chart the course of the nation both domestically and abroad for the years to come.
On the speaker:
Bob van Heuvelen is the Founder and CEO of VH Strategies. Through his experience on Capitol Hill and in the Administration, Bob maintains relationships with Members of Congress, their staff, and key policymakers in the Executive Branch.
Prior to founding VH Strategies in 2007, Bob served for a decade as Chief of Staff to then Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-ND). In this capacity, Bob advised the Senator on the full range of policy issues confronting the US Senate. Bob also headed up the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) environmental enforcement section and served as the Director of Civil Enforcement of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
